Space Station - Animated Short

Now licensed to National Geographic TV for their Space Tourism series and set to the sound of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra playing Richard Strauss's awesome Also Sprach Zarathustra, this is my 3D animation of an imaginary futuristic sci-fi space station as it orbits the Earth.

Views of the globe in the background are seen as the craft opens its shield, changes shape and negotiates its way through space.

This animated short film is my homage to Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C Clarke's classic: 2001 - A Space Odyssey. When I first saw that film as a boy in 1968 it changed my perception of things and (as with everyone from Bowie to Spielberg) had a big effect on my own approach to creativity.

Oh yeah and if you are wondering how the space station actually works - it's all done with anti matter, folding space and multi phasic reintegration :-)
